Problem statement:

Wind-driven sediment resuspension in lakes is important for biogeochemical cycles and water quality. But the global prevalence of sediment resuspension in lakes remains unexplored.

The aim of the work:

Investigate the global prevalence of sediment resuspension events across time and space in the world’s large lakes. Compile a database of instances where sediment resuspension was detected and explore the characteristics of those lakes which may make them more susceptible to sediment resuspension.

Literature search, data digitization, and database creation.
