thesis:lakecycloniccirculation

Problem statement:

Cyclonic circulation in lakes is important for biogeochemical cycles, species dispersal, heat budgets, and water quality. But the global prevalence of cyclonic circulation in lakes remains unexplored.

The aim of the work:

Investigate the global prevalence of cyclonic circulation across time and space in the world’s large lakes. Compile a database of instances where lake cyclonic circulation was detected and explore the characteristics of those lakes which may give rise to cyclonic circulation.

Method:

Literature search, data digitization, and database creation.
